Since I was out of town all weekend, and deprived you of posts for THREE days, I'm gonna do a two in one post tonight! It's a very inexpensive and variable project, good and easy for any time of year, and you can add any theme or embellishment and really make it your own.
Its a twine wrapped wreath with felt flower accents.
Felt= 8 sheets, $4. Twine = $3. Ribbon= $2 .Foam Wreath $5 |
I couldn't find a bigger, round foam wreath at hobby lobby or walmart so the one i got will have to do.
You will be covered in twine hairs and styrofoam flakes, be prepared. |
The flowers were so much fun! I really enjoyed making them and they were so inexpensive! I saw this houndstooth felt at hobby lobby for 50 cents a sheet so I took every last sheet they had. Crimson wasn't hard to find and it was 4 sheets for a $1.00! Hobby Lobby is the best.
I tried to do both styles of flowers from the pin; the petal-y one and the rose type one. I ended up with several of each and more types because they were so fun and easy to make. Your creative juices really get flowing once you start making the flowers and you are able to come up with all variations. I didn't mind experimenting because the materials were so inexpensive so I was able to get a variety of interesting looking flowers that I will be able to use on other projects.
I am satisfied with the final product and I am probably going to end up painting a small wooden A or a little plaque that says "Roll Tide" to add by the flowers, but not tonight.
I am completely statisfied with the wreath and I know these will make awesome hostess gifts/holiday/anytime presents and I am so excited to add them into a new file of favorites!
Starting tomorrow I am doing a 7 day set of workouts found on pinterest, to help get a little motivation and inspiration to work off all the turkey!
